Working primarily in oils, his photo-realism chiaroscuro style with light often flows into a dark shadowy image at a dramatic angle, illuminating the focal point of the portrait and exposing the soul and character of the subject, directing concern to the visual elements, detail, volume, shadows, and highlights of the painting itself.
Light is the premium source of energy in his paintings and the central theme of his work is the authentic and accurate reproduction of the individual.
His models are painted from live sittings and/or photographs, as this gives him the freedom to explore every detail and replicate it onto the canvas.
Working only with the finest materials, Lyndon will go to great lengths to set the scene, using professional photography and lighting equipment, to capture the image that will eventually be used for the portrait. This final image choice is a mutual selection by both artist and client.
