Biography

Lyndon Roderick (45) is a Swansea born artist working and living in Wales.

Art has always been a passion for Lyndon and as a child, he would spend most of his free time drawing and painting the human anatomy from biology books.

On leaving school he made the difficult decision to concentrate and focus his energy in the family business and not to apply to art college despite the advice and subsequent disappointment of his art teacher Mr Dewi Griffiths, who had contributed a considerable amount of time developing, encouraging and training his pupil.

Continuing to paint throughout his life in watercolour, gouache and then at a later stage, oil, Lyndon directed his attention to portrait painting, He spent a number of years developing his skill and style as a portrait artist in oil and also as a photographer, a medium that he considers a wonderful contributory tool for his art.

Deciding to veer away from traditional portraiture. Lyndon’s unique style is considered “photo-realism” and inspired by artists such as Caravaggio, Chuck Close and Gerhard Richter.
