Commissioning a portrait is an easy and relaxing experience. Depending on your availability, Lyndon can

Artist’s Procedure
Preliminary Session: (Initial Meeting)
The preliminary meeting or session will entail an informal discussion regarding the purpose of the commissioned portrait, pose, expression, clothes, background, environment, narrative props, composition, lighting, feel, mood etc… Initial photographs will be taken during which time the client may submit any and all ideas he or she may have pertaining to the completion of the portrait. The first sitting will often take place at this time.
First (or Second) Sitting:
Sittings and photo sessions may last approximately 1 to 2 hours. With children it is often necessary to allow for more familiarization time. Lyndon takes the necessary time for children to become comfortable, even though this may entail an additional visit(s) with the child. It is essential that children be completely at ease with the process and with the artist himself.

It may not be possible to complete a live sitting with a child, and a photo session is often the only alternative to achieving a study for the portrait.
Most of the time spent in a sitting is taken up with Lyndon creating preliminary sketches and/or shooting up to 100 photographs of the subject. This material, through its accumulated and/or combined reference information, assists in the accurate anatomical rendering required for the successful completion of a portrait.
This contemporary process of information gathering eliminates the traditional need of numerous time consuming sittings. It is often the case that a photo session is all that is required as material for the composition, eliminating the problem of time and distance.
Final Meeting: Delivery
At the final meeting, Lyndon usually delivers the completed portrait. Generally, deliveries occur between one and three months from the first sitting. The painting may be viewed at Lyndon’s studio in Swansea, or in the client's home.
